Prof. Anastassios Venetsanopoulos passed away
Prof. Venetsanopoulos was a WSEAS member, and one of the major professors that supported the WSEAS during its first steps, by giving Plenary Speeches (WSEAS Conferences 1999, 2000, 2003, 2008), reviewing papers, approving special sessions and special issues. A prominent personality in the area of Multidimensional Systems and Signal Processing, Prof. Anastasios (Tas) Venetsanopoulos passed away on November 17, 2014.
Professor Anastassions Venetsanopoulos was a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario and a Professor Emeritus with the Edward S. Rogers Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

With his passing away, I feel that WSEAS has suffered a big loss. I would like to express my deepest sorrow for the loss of this brilliant scientist, who shone among the academic community of electrical engineering, and honoured Greece worldwide.
