Aim: For more than a decade sustainability management and environmental compliance management are gaining a growing attention from stakeholders such as customers, shareholders, residents, and authorities. In response to that, companies are establishing organizational units with special skills in order to address environmental obligations and to explore sustainability management benefits. These goals impose a number of process management and data management challenges that can be best addressed with the use of Information Technology. The symposium tries to bring together people from industry, software vendors, consulting companies, government, and academia to exchange and discuss their experiences, views, and visions on topics inherent to IT use for sustainability management and environmental compliance management.
