Abstract: The aim of this talk is to introduce and analyze a family of cubic Bézier Interpolation curves. The interpolation curves depend on two parameters lying in the interval [0,1], that control the shape of the interpolation curve. We provide a hybrid method to choose the parameters in order to obtain the desired shape of the interpolation curve: convex, concave, with one or two inflexions points, with loop or with cusp. From a practical point of view sometimes it is important to be sure that specific cases like loops or cusps do not appear. Our method is based on a characterization algorithm, implemented in MATLAB and provides a tool with a friendly user interface for the choice of the parameters. Using a similar approach we generate and analyze a class of cubic G1 Bézier interpolation spline curves.
