Special Issue on Multi-Hazard Assessment: The Challenge of Integration

Aim:
Research in the resilience risk reduction is not new topic, but carrying out a multi-hazard risk assessment is the first step in preparing a disaster resilience strategy. to do so, the current knowledge could be improved by integrating information on natural hazard interactions and cascading effects, these interactions are commonplace around the world but often not included in disaster management and risk reduction strategies. The aims of this special issue is report the recent advances in multidisciplinary investigations, both traditional and innovative, that can be applied with special reference to mapping, monitoring and modelling natural hazards effects in the existent buildings and infrastructures.

Topics:
The range of topics to be covered by this Special Issue include, but are not limited to:
Disaster Risk Reduction - Learning from recent events
Modeling of multiple hazards and their interaction
Assessment of the risk associated to multiple hazards
Assessment of structures and infrastructures subject to multiple hazards

Submission Deadline: December 31, 2016

Submission Rules:
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the formatting instructions. Manuscripts submitted to the Special Issue on Multi-Hazard Assessment: The Challenge of Integration are to be submitted following the standard submission process. All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed using the standard procedure that is followed for regular submissions.
