Brief Biography of the
Speaker: Abdellatif Miraoui is a Full Professor of electrical engineering
(Electrical Machines and Energy) at Belfort-Montbéliard University of
Technology (UTBM) since 2000. Befor that he was the Associate Professor in
electrical machines at Franche Comté University.
Professor Abdellatif Miraoui was born in Morocco in 1962. He received the MSc
degree in 1988 from Haute Alsace University in France, the PhD degree in 1992
and the Habilitation to Supervise Researchs in 1999 from Franche Comté
University, France. His special interest includes Fuel Cell energy,
integration of Ultra capacitor in transportation, design and optimisation of
permanent magnet machines, and electrical propulsion/traction. Professor
Abdellatif Miraoui is the Director of the Electrical Engineering department
(in UTBM) from 2001, the head of "Energy Conversion & Command" Research Team
(38 researchers on 2007) and the editor of the International Journal on
Electrical Engineering Transportation (IJEET). He is the author of over 50
journal and 80 conference papers. Professor Abdellatif Miraoui is the author
of the first textbook in French about Fuel Cells: « Pile à combustible :
principes, technologies modélisation et application (Fuel cells : basic
principles, technologies, modelling and applications) » Publisher Ellipses-Technosup,
February 2007. He is also a Scientific Responsible for the column « Electrical
Machines » of the important French Industrial review « Techniques de
l’Ingénieur » He is a Member of several International Journals and Conferences
Comittees. He is a Member of IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS), Industrial
Electronics Society (IES), and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS).
Professor Abdellatif Miraoui is Doctor Honoris Causa of Cluj-Napoca Technical
University, Romania. In 2007, He received a high distinction from French
Higher Education Ministry “Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques”. He
was also distinguished as Honorary Professor from University of Brasov-
Romania.
