Brief Biography of
the Organizers:
Valeri Mladenov:
Valeri Mladenov graduated in Electrical Engineering (with
distinction) from the Higher Institute for Mechanical and Electrical
Engineering, Sofia (Technical University of Sofia), Bulgaria in
1985. He received his Ph.D. from the same institution in 1993. Since
1986 he has been a Lecturer in the Department of Theory of
Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Automatics at the Technical
University of Sofia Bulgaria, teaching courses on "Circuit Theory I
& II", "Electrical Engineering" and "Fuzzy Control and Neural
Networks". In 1999 he becomes an Associate Professor and currently
he is a Head of the Department Theoretical Electrical Engineering,
Faculty of Automatics at the TU-Sofia. He is a guest lecturer at the
Department of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of
Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, where he teaching a course "Nonlinear
Systems and Neural Networks".
Dr. Mladenov's research interests are in the field of nonlinear
circuits and systems, RSFQ circuits, neural networks, artificial
intelligence and evolutionary computations. He has received many
international research fellowships. He has more than 130 scientific
papers in professional journals and conferences. He is a co-author
of eight books and manuals for students.
As a member of several editorial boards Dr. Mladenov serves as a
reviewer for a number of journals and conferences. He is a Senior
Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
Inc. (IEEE) and member of the IEEE Circuit and Systems Technical
Committee on Cellular Neural Networks & Array Computing. He is also
a member of the Board of Directors of the World Scientific and
Engineering Academy and Society (WSEAS). He is an organizer and a
chair of several International Conferences and Symposiums.
Snejana Yordanova:
MEng in electrical engineering (automatic control) (1977) and Ph.D.
(1986) both from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria,
full-time Prof. (1998) at the Faculty of Automation, dept.
