Brief Biography of
the Organizers:
Dr. Ioannis O. Vardiambasis received the Diploma and Ph.D. degrees
in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical
University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 1991 and 1996, respectively.
He served (1998-2006) as an Adjunct Asc. Professor at the Electronic
and Computer Engineering Dept of the Technical University of Crete.
Since 2002 he is an Assistant Professor at the Electronics Dept of
the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, where he is also
Director of the Telecommunications Division and Head of the
Microwave Communications and Electromagnetic Applications
Laboratory. His research interests concern scattering, propagation,
and radiation of electromagnetic waves, antenna theory and design,
applied and computational electromagnetics, biological effects of
electromagnetic fields, microwave and satellite communications,
mobile learning.
Mr. George Liodakis received the Diploma and Masters degree in
Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical Universities
of Patras and Crete, in 1988 and 1994, respectively. From 1990 until
1994 he served as a Adjunct Lecture at the Technical University of
Crete/ Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering. Since
2003 he is a Lecturer at the Electronics Department of the
Technological Educational Institute of Crete/ Telecommunication
Division. He has a multiannual educational (including the design of
laboratory curriculums) and professional experience in
telecommunications, computer networks and telematic applications.
His research interests include broadband and convergent
communication systems, network protocols and management, e-learning,
microwave and optical communications.
