Abstract: History of the higher metallurgical education on the Ural. Features of metallurgist industry and feature of training of engineers on the Ural. Cooperation of the academic science and higher school in business of training of engineers, creation of the incorporated chaires. Participation of students of Ural Polytechnic Institute in scientific work of Institute of Metallurgy. Interrelation of subjects of degree works of students with subjects of scientific works of Institute of Metallurgy. Higher education on the Ural and Bologna Process. Problems of advent of education with two levels on the Ural, a degree of the bachelor and magister.

Brief Biography of the Speaker:
1950 (September, 11). Was Born in Village Elovo of the Perm Region (Ural, Russia). 1967. Has Left High School in the City Severouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region (Ural, Russia). Father Nikolay Dmitriev since 1948 for 2001 Worked on Joint-Stock Company “Severouralsk Bauxite Mines”. 1973. Has Ended Metallurgical Faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute (UPI) (Sverdlovsk, now Ekaterinburg, Russia). 1973-1979. The engineer, the Younger Scientific Employee, the Post-Graduate Student of UPI. 1979. Defence of the Dissertation on Competition of a Scientific Degree of Candidate of Technical Science (Ph.D. thesis). 1979 – Present time. The Senior Scientific Employee, Head of laboratory a Pyrometallurgy of the Reductions of Processes (1998), Institute of Metallurgy of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ekaterinburg). 1997. Defence of the Dissertation on Competition of a Scientific Degree of Doctor of Technical Science (thesis for a Doctor's degree). 2001. The Professor of Chair of Iron and Alloys of Metallurgy Metallurgical Faculty of the Ural State Technical University - UPI (Ekaterinburg). 2003. The Corresponding Member of Academy of Engineering Sciences of the Russian Federation of name A.M. Prokhorov (Branch of Information Science and Computer Technique). 2005. The Full Member (Academician) of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (Mining - Metallurgical Section).
Prof. Dr. Andrey Dmitriev - noted scientist in the field of development of scientific bases of complex use of mineral raw material. The basic scientific direction - development, perfection of mathematical models and their use for the analysis and optimization of processes of working of ores. For the first time has developed and has introduced a method of analytical research of blast furnace smelting on the basis of a complex of the two-dimensional mathematical models, essentially supplementing experimental methods used in practice. Has developed scientific bases of application of computer methods for the analysis and perfection of pyrometallurgy processes. Scientific ideas and development are used at creation and perfection of technologies of processing of titan-ferrous magnetite, chromic iron ore, silicate-nickel, sideritic ores, leucoxene concentrates directed on elimination of deficiency existing in Ural of steel-making iron-ore raw material, raw material for manufacture of pigment dioxide of the titan, a scrap. The author of 2 monographs, more than 140 articles and 8 inventions. A lot of time gives a professional training of engineers-metallurgists of the higher qualification.
