Brief Biography of the Organizer:

I've gained my PhD degree in medical physics at the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London, UK.
At the moment I'm one of the physicist of the molecular imaging group at S. Orsola hospital in Bologna (Italy). My role involve acquisition, reconstruction and post processing of small animal PET images as well as the development of new software tools for quantitative imaging.
In parallel to this activity I'm interested in the application of wavelet analysis to biomedical signals. More precisely my main goals are to develop new approaches to correct for partial volume effects clinical PET images by combining anatomical and functional information using the wavelet transform.
