Wavelet Decomposition: New Applications and Performance for Advanced Applications

Abstract: In the first part of this presentation, a global and unified Time-Frequency and Time-Scale decompositions will be given.
The second part of the paper will deal with a series of novel applications of Wavelet Decompositions (WD)

  • Electromagnetic Signal Transient Multimodel decomposition, in which WD is used to detect the starting time of exponential models

  • ECG denoising

  • Vibration mode denoising for large aircraft wing non-stationary vibrating modes

  • Best anisotropic 3D-wavelet decomposition in a rate-distorsion sense for hyperspectral images

Describing this large variety of applications dealt with in the TeSA Laboratory will give the audience a sound insight of the possibilities and performance of WD in advanced applications.
