Computational Methods in Electromagnetism

within the
9th WSEAS International Conference on
MATHEMATICAL METHODS AND COMPUTATIONAL TECHNIQUES IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
(MMACTEE '07)
Arcachon, France, October 13-15, 2007
http://www.wseas.us/conferences/2007/france/mmactee

Topics:

This session is intended to be an open forum for discussion on the current trends and future directions of computational methods in electromagnetism. We will discuss the development of different computational methods and software systems, and their use in design and analysis. It is mainly directed at mathematicians, physicists, computer and electrical scientists, where student presentation is strongly encouraged.
This session will be an opportunity to all computational scientists and engineers, applied mathematicians, physicists, and researchers for presenting their recent advances, ideas, results and to exchange experiences in the areas of mathematical analysis, numerical methods, modeling, simulation, and optimization for problems in Computational Electromagnetism.
We welcome contributions from researchers of academia and industry.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  1. Mathematical Analysis

  2. Numerical and Computational Methods

  3. Modeling and Simulation of Devices

  4. Scientific Computing

  5. Computational Electromagnetism and Circuit Simulation

  6. Novel Numerical Algorithm and Simulation Methodology

  7. Antennas and Propagation

  8. Electromagnetic Compatibility

  9. Microwave Applications

  10. Frequency and Time domain Techniques

  11. Optimization

  12. High Perfirmance Computing

Brief Biography of the Organizer:

Pr. Franck Assous received a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Paris (France). He then received the French "Habilitation a Diriger les Recherches" degree from the University of Toulouse (France).
He worked more than 14 years at the Atomic French Agency (CEA).
In parallel, he was also teaching at the ENSTA School of Enginneers (Paris) as an Assitant Professor, then at the University of Versailles as an Associate
Professor. He is currently working in Israel, where he is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the College of Judea&Samaria (Israel), and at the Bar-Ilan University (Israel). His research project include numerical methods for Partial Differential Equations, with a particular interest for problems arising from models in the field of computational electromagnetism and plasma physics,
originated from the need to compute precisely the motion of charged particles for plasma physics applications. He is also interested with the study of the relations, from both the numerical and the theoretical points of view, between the electromagnetic fields and their potentials.
