Brief Biography of
the Organizers:
Dr. Mohamed Maidi is researcher in the Aerospace Research Centre,
faculty of engineering, Kingston University, London. He is received
the B.Sc. in Aeronautics Engineering from Institute of Aeronautics,
University of Blida and the M.Sc. from Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, France. He has been Awarded PhD in fluid mechanics and
transfers from the same Institution, under the French Government
Scholarship. After that, He is completed Post-Doctoral Fellowship
(2004) at the French Center for Scientific Research (LEGI
Laboratory) Grenoble, France. In 2005, he is completed another
Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Laboratory of Meteorology Dynamics
(Ecole Polytechnique de Palaiseau, Paris), France. He has
participated in more than 4 research projects and has been
co-authored a lot of papers in scientific journals and conferences
proceedings in the area of LES and DNS of compressible turbulent
flows, aero-acoustics of turbulent jets and chemistry transport.
His present research work deals with Direct Numerical Simulation of
Jet In Cross-Flow with application to turbine blade cooling. This
research project which is in collaboration with SIEMENS Company is
funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council
(EPSRC). He is now member of the International Working Group in
Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfers (WSEAS).
Dr. Yao is Senior Lecturer and Director of Aerospace Research Centre
at Faculty of Engineering, Kingston University London. He has
graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from National University of
Defense Technology, China, Masters from Nanjing University of
Aeronautics and Astronautics, China and PhD from Glasgow University,
United Kingdom. He has participated in more than 8 research projects
and has been co-authored more than 30 papers in scientific journals
and conferences proceedings in the area of computational fluid
dynamics, turbulence, shock/boundary-layer interactions, hypersonic
reactive flows and propulsion, etc. He has been awarded in 2006 a
research grant by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research
Council (EPSRC) titled “DNS of Jet in Cross-flow”. He is Member of
EPSRC Condensed Phase Reactive Flow and UK Turbulence Consortium.
